Jacket Cover Are we waiting for the Messiah, Or is he waiting for us? In our preparations is there anything we have overlooked? Get ready to be surprised! Christian Zionists -- the strongest supporters of Israel -- expect the Messiah to appear whenever two conditions have been fulfilled: (a) the two tribes of Judah (the Jews, being looked on as "representing" all twelve tribes of Israel) return to the land; and (b) they are converted to Christianity. But these ideas are based on a particular interpretation (not the only possible one) of a single verse. Actually there are other Bible verses on the subject. Taken together, they yield quite a different picture. The prophesied sequence of events is as follows: * Both houses of Israel return - not just the two tribes of the house of Judah (known as the Jews) - but also the ten lost tribes of the house of Ephraim. * They are then cleansed and purified by the Holy Spirit, * and raised to a new level of religious understanding. * Consequently the differences between them disappear. * Now they all welcome the messiah, who reunifies them, * and they assist him in straightening out the world. During the 20th century a series of archaeological and historical discoveries have made it possible to trace the path of the ten tribes who were exiled to Assyria. We can now identify European peoples among whom the largest number of them settled and mingled (see Part I). And among them and their colonies overseas we can recognize people who have fulfilled or are fulfilling three Bible prophecies about them, namely: They receive the Holy Spirit (Part II) They rise to world power (Part III) They join Judah in restoring Israel (Part IV) On this basis the probable members of at least two of the lost ten tribes can be identified. If the evidence is sufficiently convincing to them and to Israeli Jews, their return can now begin. This is the next step to prepare the way for the Messiah. And the book helps you discover what your part in the plan may be. Description and Purpose Biblical text comes alive in a compelling search to follow the trail of several of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. If the house of Ephraim can be correctly identified, it points the way toward the return of the Lost Tribes and the dawning of the Messianic era. According to the evidence presented in this book most of the Spirit-filled Bible-believers in America - a large share of the population - are likely to be Ephraimites. And so are many of their relatives in Europe and other settlements overseas. They have long been the foundation of Zionist support for the restoration of Judah to the land of Israel. Part I Traces the geographic trail: where the Ephraimites known to have gone before they assimilated among the gentiles and lost track of their Israelite identity? Part II Picks up a religious trail, showing the impact of the Holy Spirit among peoples there. Part III Describes the fulfillment of the prophecy about the economic power of some of those peoples. Part IV Does the same for the prophecies of their participation in the restoration of Israel. Conclusion Any peoples which have lived all four of these experiences are obvious candidates for identification as tribes of the house of Ephraim.
